Poll: Clay Sinking or Peat Sinking?

While not personally being a sinker (I am a watcher) I have worked closely with on the order of 70 different quicksand models/actresses, with all of them doing both clay and peat (and some of them doing other materials such as cork on water). Though I have never done anything even approaching scientific in method regarding their preferences, from their general remarks I would say that their preference is about 85 percent clay and 15 percent peat. The preference for cork, among the much smaller number who tried it here, would probably be zero.

Clay is extremely messy and difficult to move around in for me. That's why I don't really enjoy it.

I never tried these, but after reviewing on which is good for sinking, Peat hit me big time, I thought it'd be more fun with peat than clay or sand, little more safer and also easy to get out, if any of you sink SLOWLY in peat, then peat is FOR me.

CLAY. Yup, make mine clay. Peat isn't very challenging. Its easy to sink into and equally easy to get right back out of. Plus you tend to float much easier in peat. Clay however, tends to be stickier. Thus it holds you down better. It creates a suction that's practically nonexistent with peat. And that suction makes it more challenging to get free of. But even better is tidal mud, as it tends to be even stickier than that of clay. Tidal mud sticks to your skin like glue. And because of that, it creates an even larger suction force that has to be overcome when trying to get out. Furthermore, tidal mud allows you to sink down past your natural buoyancy point as if its not even there. It'll hold you down below that point vice allowing you to float back up. I think this has to do with both the suction and the stickiness of the mud. I've found that most tidal mud is consistent in its thickness from the top down to nearly any depth, allowing you to sink way down deep. Clay on the other hand, gets thicker with depth, making it harder and harder to sink into as you try going deeper and deeper. I have an ample supply of tidal mud here. I can sink daily all summer and not sink in the same spot twice...ever. This stuff really holds you down. And the more you struggle, the deeper you end up. Its about as close as one can get to that found in movies, except that movie mud is almost always thinner...much thinner. Your first step into tidal mud is usually going to be almost waist deep. But its still more than thick enough to hold you in place. And if you struggle trying to get out, you tend to only go in deeper. When trying to get out, your legs feel as if they're stuck in molasses, and the whole lot of it is trying to come up with your legs as you try pulling them out.

Instinctively, as it was videos of this that got me interested for the first time, clay quicksand. But thick stuff that's pretty solid like the ArchEnemys quarry. I've seen other videos where it's soft clay and I have to say that doesn't appeal half as much. Call me fickle. It's a girl thing.

The same with peat, from what I've seen. The thicker the better.

So for me, not what it is, but how it is.
