I recognize there may be issues I do not know about, but a quick search of "phpbb3.1 and chat" turns up at least one chat extension that is asserted to be compatible. It is called Ajax Chat and is listed as "latest Beta version is in GitHub releases" whatever that means. Requirements are phpBB3.1 and php 5.4

I don't like the red icons for an unread post in the forums, preferred it when the actual title of the post was a different color!

Personally I agree with Wosname and Lino about the icon, although just maybe the icons could be made more useful if they were MUCH more prominent.

Responding to my own post to add that I am viewing the forum with the default color scheme. I have no idea if the icons might be more prominent in another scheme.

The new layout looks okay and i will get used to the few subtle changes. The whole page looks much better on mobile devices, so thumbs up.

There are still some issues:
1. (known problem): Yesterday i did receive a message-notification via the forums mail-system (message was sent to my e-mail) but after logging in here, there was no trace of any message.

2. (new problem): is it possible to extend the time-period of the automatic logout? After writing a post like this one and clicking the "submit"-button i have to login again.

Regarding chat;

I didn't have a chance at the time to actually look at the chat module in depth, but I did see that it required php 5.4, and the host you're running on is only supporting up to 5.3 -- the upgrade from 5.2 to 5.3 is part of what took so long Thursday. It will probably be Sunday before I have a chance to really look at it and see how feasible it is; there may be other options that work just fine on 5.3.


And topic colors;

Regarding the text color, that's something I really want to look into. I'm not sure if it's a feature we can bring back, because my solution was to heavily tweak the prosilver stylesheets to make that happen, and 3.1 doesn't do that anymore. I might have to figure out how all this module nonsense works and write something of my own.

I strongly agree as well! It is virtually impossible to see when there is a new topic now... especially when you have lousy eyesight like I do!

As far as updates go, this one has been the best and smoothest I've experienced. Everything's still in the same place and there are no changes changed for the sake of changing changes.

HATE it when sites do that.
