Tonite's games:

Tampa 5-2 over Detroit, and generally beating up on them as the score indicates for a 2-0 series lead. It was a bloody affair near the end with the predictable bullshit trying to set up for Game 3 Sunday in Detroit. Bishop was hot again in net, stopping 15 shots in the 1st. It's not over, but if Detroit loses Game 3, put the coins on their eyes

Chicago 3-2 over St Louis to even the series  The Hawks are way too good to be constrained by bullshit, and by god there was enough of that. Joel I thought was gonna jump on the ice and beat the shit out of the officials at a couple points. But that coaches challenge as well as goal computer got a workout tonight. This one is turning nasty in a hurry. They didn't like each other before we even started, and things have not improved. This could go seven, and beat each other bloody

Florida 3-1 over the Islanders, evening their series also. Luongo was hot, stopping 41 shots. Florida added an empty netter, so this one was a close fought game. Forget my original assessment. This is gonna be good

Nashville and Anaheim is just underway, and Dunc, your boys are up already 1-0 in the 1st

Also, I thought about suggesting a playoff beard contest, but with the heat getting better, it might become irritating at some point :D

Nashville wins Game One 3-2 with some solid play and good goaltending. And a fuck you very much to the CBC broadcast douches, who clearly wanted the quackers to win

There is a bit of jawing going on now with the INEVITABLE as-predicted by any hockey guy with a fucking brain, controversy the computer-offside now available via the "Coach's Challenge" Rule. Now, irony, and the hockey gods, being what they are (and they ARE, trust me) it should come as no surprise that St Louis is on the receiving end of the proverbial blade to the throat. Since the whole fucking reason we had to insert this RIDICULOUS rule in the first place is because of THEM. A few years back, in a playoff game (of course) THEY were playing Colorado; during the game there was a play, where the player for St Louis was so fucking far offside, everyone literally STOPPED. Except the fucking imbecile who was a "linesman" was out fucking looking for his seeing-eye dog in a dark basement, and didnt stop the play. Thus allowing the said fucking asshole to skate in untouched, and score (since the goalie was in the process of relaxing. He may have been getting some water. Whatever) So, the rule was created because of officials SO fucking incompetent as to defy imagination, so retarded as to need a drool bib, so... You get the picture. Now, I expect you will see some tweaking on this in the next couple of months through the competition committee. But just keep it in mind when it comes up again (and I got a bottle that says IT WILL )

And less than an hour after posting that....

exact, EXACT same situation, same challenge... and oops, opposite result. So Sorry. Ends up completely changing the momentum of the game, and Rangers go on to win 4-2.

Can the Midget PLEASE just fucking die of a head-exploding stroke for these sorts of imbecilic fucking ideas??

eh boy

Washington wins 4-1 to take a 2-0 series lead. Phily did not have luck on their side, with their goalie allowing one of the more bonehead goals of the year on a shoot in from just across centre ice. He owned up to it, but it totally demoralized them and they just werent in the game after. And getting nasty

Dallas 2-1 over Minnesotta for a 2-0 lead also. Close game, but the skill level is showing, with Dallas mostly frustrated in scoring so few goals. They were the highest scoring team in the league

San Jose also 2-1 for a 2-0 series lead. They have brought their A game and good goaltending, and are NOT intimidated in the slightest.

St Louis comes from behind to win 3-2 and take a 2-1 series lead. Kane pulled a bit of a bonehead highstick resulting in a double minor, and a goal. Sigh

Detroit won't be dying just yet, with a 2-0 shutout win , making the series 2-1 Tampa. Tampa was very flat, for reasons unknown, managing only 16 shots. Not their game at all

Other 2 games still to go

The Islanders win in OT to take 2-1 series lead. 4-3 final score. A very close game with the Islanders coming from behind the whole game, forcing overtime. Some stupid penalties by the Panthers that cost them, AND yet another offside/challenge that negated a goal. Geez I hate being right

Nashville wins again, 3-2 over Anaheim to take a 2-0 lead. Stupid, stupid, FUCKING stupid, undisciplined , boneheaded fucking..... Did I mention how fucking stupid Anaheim was? Lots of chippy play on both sides, some in the "what he fuck are you doing??" category by Nashville. But what was worse, Anaheim raising the stakes after and as Nik Kypreos put, STOP trying to run the guys into the 4th row! This is the playoffs. Headgames and bullshit gonna happen. You CANNOT fucking do it when you down in the series, AND the game in question when the officials aint calling stuff. Nashville deserved the win. But they better hustle home and thank the gods. You can't bet on morons all the time. And Anaheim IS a damn good team
