Re: RIP Prince.
I was in shock when my sister told me the bad news.
Prince's music has provided me with a few of good memories throughout the years. I'll never forget the time my best buddy in high school sung "Kiss" at the school talent show freshman year! lol! He sound terrible, but I could do nothing but support him and clap for him at the end.
It's so sad... I expected both Prince and Michael Jackson to live well into their 80's. Life is so short. At least I have my memories to hang on to.

To me, he had a lot in common with David Bowie.

2016 is officially a shitty year.........first David Bowie, then Merle Haggard and now Prince. Here's to the great ones boys.......there's damn few of them left.

Re: RIP Prince.
Yeah, he was always kind of a cross between David Bowie and Jimmy Hendrix. I liked some of his tunes back in the day but my appreciation for him grew over the years. Especially so when I learned this little wild man having sex with musical instruments had the power to turn my wife into a sex crazed animal. I made sure she was on the front row every time he went on tour. After he grew up and got religion his shows became just about him being the guy who played "Prince" music. That was honestly even better because all the pretentious show biz crap was gone. The last time I saw him (2004?) was probably one of the best concerts I ever attended. Guy was very very good at what he did. Really smart too as a music businessman and producer. For certain nobody will forget his music.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

Prince was quite a remarkable artist! Celebrate the man and his music - lets party like it's 1999!

I did like his music and it hit me rather hard, because he's pretty close to my age, and that's just not old enough to go.
Prince songs are going through my head, and I've been Googling him. His Superbowl halftime show ("Purple Rain" in real rain) was awesome! And it sure is refreshing to encounter a successful rock star who swore off drugs and alcohol early because he actually thought they were a bad idea...NOT because he ended up in rehab.
RIP Prince. You were a decent guy in addition to being a blazing talent. You'll be missed.
