Re: Best Prescription Ever
Given Sir Winston's longevity and general vitality I'd say he was very good at picking his doctors.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

Re: Best Prescription Ever
Not to mention crafty getting around prohibition at the time
Someone recently thought they'd give the Winston diet a try, for the food and booze. They might have did ok for the food end but they didn't last a day trying to match the booze intake. They really should have known better. For a man who considered economy measures to be "cut down to 3 bottles of champagne in the evening..."

One of the best comebacks of all time......
"I may be drunk, miss, but in the morning I will be sober and you will still be ugly!"

I believe this episde, which is not well-documented to have really taken place, was,"And you, madam, are ugly. But I shall be sober in the morning." The quote is usually sttributed to a confrontation between Churchill and Lady Astor but most sources I can find say it was with Bessie Braddock, MP.
Studio 588 currently offers more than 2200 different HD and QD quicksand videos and has supported production of well over 2400 video scenes and other projects by 20 different producers. Info may be found at:

His battles with Lady Astor are generally apocryphal but the following exchange is believed to have actually taken place -
Lady Astor - Winston, if I was your wife I'd poison your coffee.
Churchill - Madam, if you were my wife, I'd drink it.

Re: Best Prescription Ever
My favorite:
Churchill: "Would you sleep with me for one million pounds?"
Lady Astor: ( blushes ) "Why, yes, I believe I would."
Churchill: "Would you sleep with me for five pounds?"
Lady Astor: "Certainly not! What do you think I am?"
Churchill: "We've already determined what you are; we're simply negotiating a price."

Re: Best Prescription Ever
Of course Lady Astor is best known as the originator of the accusation that the soldiers in Italy and the Far East were "D-Day Dodgers"; while people in Wales still spit on the floor at the mention of Churchill's name, as he the summary shooting of striking miners and railway workers in Tonypandy and Llanelli respectively, not to mention the burning down of an entire street in Lon don to intimidate striking dockers, then tried to justify it by inventing an imaginary gang of anarchists in one of the houses (the "Siege of Sidney Street"), then he ordered troops to Liverpool to break a police strike, and put troops on the streets in 1926 to break the General Strike....he employed troops against his own people more times than he employed them against Germany!

Re: Best Prescription Ever
Actually, the best ever parliamentary exchange took place between Charles James Fox and John Wilkes sometime in the 18th century;
FOX: By Heaven Sir, I swear that you will die upon the gallows, or of the Pox!
WILKES: That depends Sir, on whether I embrace either your morals, or your Mistress!

Re: Best Prescription Ever
I need my doctor to prescribe this. I wonder if AHA covers dry gin martinis, preferably not in generic gin...Bombay Sapphire being the preferred choice.
