And they also have the rumor floating about that Nathan Fillion is being floated for the Next Captain. BS until now, but NOW with Castle finished, and he free, it's not as much BS

Some News
As related in person to Alec Peters by both JJ Abrams, and Peter Lin, CBS/Paramount will be dropping their suit against Axanar. Now all the legal suits have to confirm all the bullshit, as normal. But thats straight from them, at the LA Trek convention pimping both the new movie, and the coming series . It would be suicide to troll this, for both of them, and all Trek for the next hundred years or so
, so It likely has merit. It also is the smart move . The next date in court was around the time the flick premiered, and things were not looking good for them, so it's wise. Doubly so since both Lin, and the man who created the Klingon language had submitted briefs SUPPORTING Axanar.

Re: Some News
Figured they'd give up once the fans raised a stink. There's a little teaser trailer on Youtube for the new series but it doesn't show anything, hardly even worth posting...... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXpPweAooeE

Re: Some News
The cracks started early with them ticking off the judge with some procedural stuff from the usual high-handed assholery expected from them. Never wise. Judges are human too, and pissed off is a state of mind, and one you cant fix easy. When the briefs started stacking up against them it just got worse. And the hypocrisy meter pretty much pegged, when they announced that the new series would be a "Pay to See" setup. I don't think they any less assholes, and not to be trusted a moment. But they might have noted that no fans = no fucking money to watch YOUR movie, and you can Pound Sand for the 'new' series
