At least here, I can always use the excuse that I mistook the drone for a small mosquito. My advice would be 12 gauge, # 7 1/2 shot, and a full choke.

I saw a video the other day where some yoyo was flying his camera drone over a middle ages reenactment event. This one Viking got pissed, and took the drone out of the sky- with a thrown spear.

Short of using AAA , I am not sure how you could deal with that. It is literally an undiscovered country there. If the terrain had cover, like trees or brush, or a canopy it would be less of a problem. But anything open, it's pretty much wide open.

And then one day, a black helicopter showed up. Hehe

That's a pretty funny shot. Especially the angle of her pink jacket. Hmm...black helicopter pilot just may have gotten an eyeful?....

The pilot and anyone else looking out that side of the helicopter (that's Tatijana btw).

It lingered in that position for a few precious seconds and then peeled off. I always imagined a voice from the back yelling "What are you looking at lieutenant!!"

Anyways, back on topic, I doubt that anyone shooting on private property has anything to worry about. But this issue is only going to get bigger for the public at large. The scary thing is that around 400 or 500 feet in altitude, they tend to disappear - both visually and audibly.

I don't get any great concern about this at all. If it somehow should become an issue then bringing down flying things has a long history around here. And there's no season on drones.

This is an emerging issue for us quarrymen in that it is only a matter of time before some quarry security personnel start flying drones around on patrol. Even worse and less expensive are the new remote cameras available for hunters to use in spotting game.

Thank you for the clarification. I was under the impression that it was a 'special ops' variant. I guess it is, of sorts.

Yea, the drones don't have the endurance to monitor areas continuously, but a clever operator could program one to fly routes automatically, to efficiently cover interesting areas once every hour or so.

And 'game' cameras are something I hadn't even thought about. Wow.

I'm good with a BB gun but throwing rocks is fun too. Now if you can aim a mud ball at it and get it really slimy, you'll blind the camera part even if it doesn't fall to Earth.

Laser pointers, particularly green ones...are very good at blinding cameras.
I tend to go extreme, the blue one I have is 1.4 watts and will not only blind it, it may begin to melt the plastic if it happens to be black

FYI Laser diodes, like electric motors, have a set continuous operating power; higher than that, they will overheat, melt and fail. However, also like electric motors, they will accept very short-term loads well above their rating. So, in theory, you could get a bunch of IR laser diode modules, hook them to a capacitor bank, and direct them all into a collimator. Use a visible laser for targeting, and when the laser is on target fire them all in one big pulse. And the owner, upon finding their VERY melty drone, will conclude only one thing: Aliens.
