A dog that runs like hell in the freezing cold and snow, and trees with it's eyes closed and thinks that's FUN, is a special kind of awesome :D

I love dogs. Dogs is the best kind of people. I've had at least one around me all my life. The current dog is a pit bull mix named Gertrude and if you've ever had a pit bull anything you know what they're like. Pit Bulls are fanatically, psychotically, devoted to their humans and territory and not much else. Like any dog if you treat it right and raise it properly it's a good dog. The one we have is absolute sweetness as long as the world obeys the pit bull rules -

I love my people. Kind of the way you like sex, money, food, air, and water only ten times more.

This is my yard. That's your yard. You stay in your yard and I'll stay in mine.

These are my people. Don't mess with them.

I don't care if you are King Kong, Godzilla, Chuck Norris or all three. You will NOT get past me to my people if they don't want it to happen.

It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

My (and Dad's) current dog, Gurdy, is the puppy of our previous canine, a Black Lab. Gurdy, on the other hand, definitely has her father's colors- a mishmash of black, brown, and white. She's quite friendly to other humans, not so much to other dogs, thought she seems to have mellowed out the past couple of years. As a matter of fact, she's barking at me from outside right now, wanting to go for a walk, no doubt!

Our current canine, Honey, is a Shepherd-Chow mix. We have had female dogs before, but Honey is our first "girl dog." :) Will try to post a pic of her later, if I can catch her awake.
