Hi Folks,

A recent topic has forced me to add a 'No Scat' rule here.

No content or discussion of a scatological nature please. No poop. It just bothers too many people.

I'm not disputing your decision by any means here, I just wanted to say that I don't think it bothered that many people, so much as the specific user's constant use of the subject matter in conjunction with his constant denial of his predilection for said material is what drove people crazy. That's how it felt to me anyway, so I could be wrong.

I wasn't silent, I raised it with a moderator and was effectively told 'Live with it'. I'm glad that decision has been changed. I had to foe the person posting just so I didn't keep seeing their posts and, to me, offensive and stomach churning signature.

For the record, I am by no stretch of the imagination into scat, I just have a pretty "whatever floats your boat" kind of outlook as it pertains to kinks and fetishes, likely a result of my own self-awareness for how weird my quicksand fetish is.

I concur with Ace. While I don't personally get into scat, I respect others' specific sub-fetishes. After all, we're all quicksand enthusiasts here, and that is peculiar as any. Scat is a bit different - it *is* a taboo topic in many regards, and a blanket ban on it is understandable. However, as Ace said, it was not the topic that was irksome, but the way the user in question continually presented it. Most people, as far as I can tell, are content with ignoring content they don't like (as jadokast98 has pointed out). Most of us do for other topics - people ignore certain authors, artists, producers, models, quicksand substances, and so on. I am personally repulsed by furry topics (and many places *do* have a blanket no-furry rule too), but to each their own.

In short, I am in favour of a general ban on scat topics as a matter of keeping the forum clean, but not necessarily due to the principle raised.

Oh, and for those who are concerned about "official moderation" and how board moderators should "do their damn jobs", I am very happy to vacate the position I was asked to take on voluntarily. The original report was dealt with. No one reported or requested further action through the moderation system. It isn't my job to proactively read and vet every topic on every forum. The shit began piling up after 3am (my time). If this isn't good enough, rather than complain about nothing being done, how about actually asking for it directly through a PM or a report? It's a double-standard: I close a topic, and it's ****ing censorship. I don't lock a thread, and I'm not doing my damn job.

If you think you can do better, hey, the position is there. I've got better things to do than to deal with quicksand fetishists arguing over shit. Send in your expression of interest to Dave and I'll happily sit back and produce the occasional piece of work that gets two comments.

Yep. I'm a quiet back-arrow kind of gal.

Right before I quit Fetlife, they banned it too. (Maybe it's back? I wouldn't know.) Scat is like weird, smelly food. It really is best enjoyed in the privacy of an isolated dining room with nobody present who does not enjoy it too.
