Central Florida Spots ?? (moved from Photos)

Hey,
New to this forum and sinking too but really interested in finding a local place. I'm in Central Florida. My concerns are alligators! They're everywhere so that makes me pretty nervous.

When I first moved here there was a Yahoo Groups devoted to sinking in Florida. I actually recall it was specific to central Florida and I remember some posts about a place called Horseshoe Lake in Ocala, but I googled for the group and can;t find it. Im guessing it's gone but wonder if anyone knows??

I ride horses a lot. I did experience mud and sinking quite by accident on a back woods ride. My horse got spooked and threw me and I ended up in mud. It was all covered with foliage so I didn't even know it was mud until I landed in it. When I started to stand up I started sinking. It surprised and then scared me how quickly my field boots sank down. I was up to my knees in seconds and when I tried to pull my foot up, the other went down more. I have to admit though, it felt a little erotic

There was a heavy branch from a tree within reach so I didn't feel in danger, so I just stood there and without even moving I just kept sinking real slow. I have to say, it REALLY felt nice when the mud got up to my breeches, and especially to the crotch of my breeches and could feel my riding briefs underneath getting wet and sticky. Ok...I'll stop reminiscing since I know this is a G-rated site, but I'd love to find a place around here to do this, especially if it were on an equestrian trail.

Any advice would be appreciated. BTW, are there any other riders on here who like doing this in breeches and field boots??

Central florida is a big area. Maybe be more specific..
I lived in Orlando/Maitland for a while and had a spot. Its been years. I live 90 minutes or so away now. Would be interesting to see ifbit is still accessible and semi-private.

I used to run a list called Florida Bog Hunters (FBH) on Yahoo! Groups, but I closed it many years ago. I am sure that is the forum in question. A local sinker served as my guide, and we went to the boggy retention pond behind the cabins and trees a couple of times for deep sinks. The area was bottomless peat, but is only exposed after a dry spell. Otherwise, it is under water. There is some standing water near the peat, but forget cleaning yourself well at all there. We had to return to his home in Ocala so I could shower before I drove three hours back to my house.

There was some evidence that others had been there for the same purpose. A wooden board near the deepest spot, unknown to my guide, suggested someone used it for recreational purposes. I stepped off it and promptly sank over my head. That was a little scary.

From those brief experiences, I learned that I am a watcher of women sink rather than a sinker myself. The experiences just did nothing for me beyond satisfy my curiosity of how it would feel to submerge vertically into a bottomless bog. Even the pleasure I got from playing in the mud as a boy was absent. All I felt afterward was annoyance at how hard it was to clean all the nasty muck from my fingernails for days afterward. Luckily none of it was noticeable enough for colleagues to inquire.

My aforementioned guide and I have lost touch with each other, and I have no idea how to contact him now.

Actually, this is an R-rated site, so you don't have to worry.
It is "Deep Sinking" that is a G-rated site.

I should also mention that the General Discussion forum is the more appropriate place to ask for information on sinking areas, since people go to this "Photos" forum to view... photos (perhaps a moderator could move this thread to the appropriate place).
