"Not last long" can mean many things. When I lived in Charlotte, NC, where no one has ever heard of anything called a snow plow, there was a storm once that produced about 9 inches of snow. The entire city was essentially closed completely for five days. A few vehicles could roll through the snow but most could not until it melted. Here in Arkansas they do know about snow plows and they have a few but the tertiary roads pretty much just have to wait until it melts.
